The
Parent Teacher Association
Have you ever wondered…
What does the PTA do?
Why is the PTA always raising money?
Where does the money go?
NYC Department of Education mandates that each school have a PTA. All parents, step-parents, legally appointed guardians, foster parents and persons in parental relation are automatically members of their school’s PTA.
Parent elected Officers of a PTA are responsible for the PTA budget, events and activities. PTAs can support schools by raising funds, hosting parent workshops or meetings, organizing festivals, dances or social events for families, and can help schools connect with parents through updates and volunteer opportunities.
Here are some of the things that the PS11 PTA organizes and/or funds through its fundraising efforts and your support:
Remember, YOU are the PTA!
