Donate and pay your Readathon Pledge Online

We encourage friendly competition between students and classes and will track all class totals of minutes read weekly.

How it works

  • Find adult sponsors to pledge funds for each minute read and logged during the Readathon time frame.
We suggest 5-10 cents per minute.  Sponsor names and pledge amounts are written on the Readathon pledge form.  We can help you find adult sponsors if you do not have a sponsor.  Everyone can participate!
  • Write down all minutes you spend reading outside the classroom on the Readathon log.  Minutes spent reading for homework count!  (Pre-K, K and 1st grade students can include minutes adults read to them.)
  • At the conclusion of the Readathon period, all minutes are totaled on each student's log and pledges collected.  (Pledges can also be paid online via the school website.)

When is the Scholastic Book Fair?

  • Monday, October 16, 2017 - Monday, October 23, 2017 in the school auditorium
When is the Readathon?

  • Monday, October 23, 2017 - Friday, November 19, 2017

How do I fill out the Readathon Pledge Log and Reading Log?

Are there prizes?

  • Every student who participates will receive a certificate of accomplishment and celebrate at an after school Pajama Reading Party held in the spring!
  • Every student who reads 1,000 minutes or more will receive a special prize!
  • Each grade gets a pizza party for the class that reads the most minutes per student!

Where does the money go?

  • The money raised during the Readathon goes to support our Recess Initiative, It Takes A Village.
