This fun All-American past time sport is an introduction for young boys ad girls to learn how to play baseball. Students will learn to hit a ball, different field positions, run bases, and interact in a “TEAM” environment. Children will build community, while learning the fundamentals of baseball through this fun program!

In this comprehensive instructional basketball program, your child will learn all the fundamentals of the game. Kids will receive small group and some individual instruction as well as real-game full court experience. They will learn discipline and sportsmanship in a fun and competitive environment. Regardless of the skill level, this program will be a benefit to his/her game.
Ms. K’s Swagger Jumpers
In this class, students will be exposed to the sport of Double Dutch. Beginners will chant, dance, jump, hop, exercise, while learning rhythm, the beat of the rope, and fun tricks that keep them moving & engaged while having fun. Advanced participants will learn the terminologies & components of competitive Double Dutch. Participants will also learn turning & can be a part of the Swagga Jumpers Red of P.S. 11. Being a part of this team with Ms. K can mean opportunities to participate in different shows and compete on a state champion level.

Flag Football teaches football fundamentals in a fun, non-contact environment. Passing, catching, route running all learned through fun drills and team games. Great way to burn competitive energy while fostering teamwork.

Class warms up with lively music, then conditions with cross mat tumbling. Tennis • Jr. Tennis Clinic
Dedicated to providing quality tennis instruction to culturally diverse, inner-city youth as a tool that supports and enhances their personal growth, physical health and academic achievement. Structured tennis instruction is an excellent vehicle for building character, developing discipline, and promoting physical fitness and mental alertness. Please note that all participants must be at least 6 years old.
This class will introduce students to basic ballet technique. They will learn proper body placement, leaps, turns, and jumps. Students will learn how to move rhythmically to various musical genres with choreographed dances. There will be a showcase performance at the end of the session.
DJ 101 • SuperVibes DJ Academy
Students will learn the art of DJing with an Award-winning DJ. They will each create their very own DJ names and learn different DJ techniques and moves in a fun and creative environment.
Samantha Harris + Cat Patterson
Builds Confidence and Self Esteem, Encourages Team Work & FUN!!! Children will explore their imagination and learn how to communicate their ideas through telling stories, improvisation, and by portraying characters. Students will have the opportunity to perform a fictional role in our own stage production at the end of the cycle.

In this class, children will have the opportunity to reenact everyday actions or situations that they observe, engage in intensely imaginative activities based on knowledge they gain from books, movies, and other sources, retell and reenact stories, and act out songs.
Guitar • Mr. Oleg
Sign your child up for small group guitar lessons with Mr. Oleg, our talented music instructor. During each lesson your child will learn to play chords and simple songs with proper guitar technique. Instruments are provided for in-class instruction. It is recommended that families acquire a guitar for practice at home. Students will receive a specific time slot before the second week of class.
Hip Hop Dance

In this Hip Hop Dance class, the students will learn the culture of the genre and how it relates to movement. They will learn the fundamentals and dance forms of the style such as choreography, popping, locking, and freestyle. With new and exciting choreography each week, students gain the confidence to perform on stage or in front of a camera.There will be a showcase performance at the end of the cycle.

Our Small Group lessons foster a comfortable and fun environment for students to become interested in Music through the Piano. Students learn age-appropriate Music & Piano skills that include listening, note reading & writing, and more. Students will receive a specific time slot before the second week of class.

Students learn about vocal technique, rhythm, melody, and harmony while practicing and performing as the dynamic “PS 11 Young Voices Chorus.” Our goal is to develop strong singers who perform fearlessly and joyfully alongside their peers. We sing songs that are a mix of new and old, from pop songs to classic R&B hits. There will be a showcase performance at the end of the cycle.
Lotus Creations Academy
STEP is an exciting form of percussive dance that uses the entire body as an instrument to create rhythms and sounds with a mix of footwork, music, and spoken word/chants. This class will teach discipline, develop confidence and strengthen one’s mind and body, as well as shape creativity as themes are carried out occasionally! STEP is an excellent outlet and workout that will be sure to grab everyone's attention.
Dan Mitro, Mark Morris Dance Group
Students will learn how to move rhythmically to various musical genres with choreographed dances for each. There will be a grand performance at the end of the session.
We provide an outlet for children to express themselves and the opportunity for them to follow their own musical curiosities. We believe each student is different and pride ourselves on treating each student as an individual. Students will overcome personal hurdles to give stirring performances in recitals and go on to be accepted into competitive music programs. Instruments are provided for in-class instruction. It is recommended that families acquire a violin for practice at home. Students will receive a specific time slot before the second week of class.
ARDE Architecture + Design for Kids
Do you want to build on a grand scale? Triangular pyramids up to the ceiling, a house for your favorite animal or defensive walls of a medieval city are among the structures you are going to construct in this class. Besides the largest projects in the After School world, you will build furniture and birdhouses, design a street facade and even produce a masterplan of a city where you, your family, and friends could live. By the end of the program, you will learn exciting terms and concepts such as classical Vitruvian principles, light & shadow, aesthetics, texture, composition, visual & spatial thinking, balance, scale and much more.
Mr. Wright, Learning Through Chess
Through chess, children develop fundamental lessons of life. Enlighten concentration, logical thought, foresight and planning, pattern recognition as well as developing creative solutions. This class teaches self-discipline and taking responsibility through the game of Chess. Come learn to strategically maneuver knights, rooks, kings, queens and CONQUER! Students have the opportunity to participate in tournaments, as well as local and state championships.
Coding w/ Scratch, Minecraft, + More
Scratch is a fun and exciting coding program developed to meet the interests of younger students. In this course, students will be introduced to fundamental programming concepts. Students will learn how to create animations, computer games, and interactive projects using Scratch, a graphical programming language developed at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). At the end of the course, students create their own computer game and share it with their instructor and classmates. No previous programming skills are required, but students should be comfortable using a computer and browser.

The Engineering Club encourages students to become problem-solvers and critical thinkers using hands-on activities that are both fun and challenging. We will focus on physical science concepts to deepen our understanding about force, motion, friction, and energy. Teams will build wind-powered water lifts, catapults, electric circuit-powered insects, mazes, parachutes, and solar-powered systems.

This sculpting class is a creative visual arts program designed for the younger artist. Students will learn new lessons in the elements of design as they focus on project-based sculpting. Projects will be tailored to the level of each child, allowing them to use their imagination as they create sculptured works of art.
