PTA - April 19
Joshua Bloodworth convened the meeting and went over the recent budget report. There were no questions.
Emily Chen discussed the upcoming Board Elections and introduced the two volunteers for the nominating committee: Ty Campbell-Hossein and Natasha Nieves.
Elections will take place at the May membership meeting.
Ms. Hope spoke about the discussions within SLT about reconfiguring grade five to better equip students to transition to middle school. The school is working out a different structure where students will move between classes and teachers for different subjects.
Ms Hope also highlighted upcoming events and trips including:
Grade Five trip to DC
Grade Three trip to Phillidelpgia
Grade One hike in upstate NY
Grade Two trip to Howe Caverns
Cultural Dance Festival
Ms Hope encouraged students to spend a least 30 minutes a day over Spring Break on Homework, in particular Grades 3 through 5 as they will take the Math State Test the week after Spring Break.
Nathalie Clunis provided an updated on Raise 11:
Among the items up for auction are vacation homes, signed sports memorabilia, and a pair of HAMILTON tickets.
The committee’s goal is 200 items for the auction, and are accepting donations both large and small, as the committee would like a range of items.
If you are unable to attend, please consider buying a ticket for a teacher or funding a cause (see the website for details).
The tickets do count as a donation to the PTA which is a 501C.
Mr Rand announced the Game Night on the the Thursday before Spring Break and thanked all the parents for their continued support to the school.
Joshua Bloodworth, Emily Chen, Ron McGrew, Kiesha DeVaugn, Andrea Boffa, Bianca Donaldson, and Nathalie Clunis described their various positions on the board and their experiences serving on the PTA.
